一般民眾(尤其是孕婦)用于日常環(huán)境中,防止受到意外的電離輻射;醫(yī)生用于檢測放射性藥物的輻射水平,防止受到過量的電離輻射;海關(guān)人員對過境人員和物質(zhì)的快速檢測,避免非法攜帶或走私特殊物質(zhì)(如特殊核材料、稀土等);安保人員在公眾場所的巡視,避免核輻射造成群體危害;非專業(yè)人員在核輻射場所(如核材料生產(chǎn)車間、儲存庫等)的巡視過程中免受過量照射:檢測裝修材料(如大理石、花崗巖、陶瓷潔具等)內(nèi)輻射是否超標(biāo)。
